The Inner Work With Olivia.

Welcome

I’m glad you’re here.

I consider being on the journey with you as your therapist one of the greatest privileges one can have. It is my belief that you do not need a ‘great big reason’ or a formal diagnosis to seek therapy. The human condition is criteria enough to be here.

Mary ‘Olivia’ Verhulst is a Licensed Psychotherapist, Consultant, Clinical Supervisor, Media Contributor, Forbes Health Advisor, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider, and Adjunct Professor at NYU. She is certified to provide telehealth in NY, NJ and FL, and currently works for a thriving group practice in Manhattan called Let’s Talk Psychological Wellness P.C.

Olivia helps individuals to improve their lives with lasting changes through Psychotherapy, and prioritizes spreading mental health awareness through a trauma-informed lens via Advocacy, Consultations & Workshops, and Media Consults.

  • “Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”

    —Fred Rogers.

  • “An abnormal reaction to an abnormal situation is normal behavior.”

    —Viktor Frankl

  • "The more you focus on time- past and future- the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is"

    - Eckhart Tolle

  • “I am encouraging you to be courageous, look hard, and identify your usual response. It’s the one that pops out before you have taken a breath. This is the response that can trap you in a vicious cycle of disconnection with the person you love best.”

    - Sue Johnson

  • “Life can only be understood by looking backward; but it must be lived looking forward” — Soren Kierkegaard
